About KU Sorority & Fraternity Life (SFL)
We aspire to provide students with a premier sorority and fraternity experience through a comprehensive and student-focused approach.
Our History
- Since 1873, sorority and fraternity life has grown to become a vital part of the history and tradition of KU.
- Today, KU sorority and fraternity community represents around 4,000 students (20% of the undergraduate student population) and 42 sororities and fraternities.
- Each sorority and fraternity is a member of one of the four governing councils; the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Panhellenic Association (PHA).

Our Mission
The mission of the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life is to empower members of the fraternity and sorority community to express their respective organizations' values through the embodiment of our shared commitment to academic achievement, civic and community engagement, diversity and inclusivity, personal and professional development and holistic wellness. Ultimately creating global citizens who positively contribute to the University of Kansas, the greater Lawrence community and the world.
